Im ersten Viertelfinale der World Juniors machte es das DEB Team den Russen sehr schwer. Am Ende siegte die Mannschaft von Igor Larionov aber knapp mit 2:1.
Das ÖEHV U20 Team lag gegen Russland rasch 0:4 zurück, konnte im zweiten Drittel durch Senna Peeters auch anschreiben und verlor ein tolles Spiel am Ende zu hoch mit 1:7.

Heute Nacht trifft das ÖEHV U20 Team im dritten Spiel der World Juniors auf Vizeweltmeister Russland. Das Team von Head Coach Igor Larionov will und muss in diesem Spiel auf die Siegerstraße zurück.
Tschechien feiert bei den World Juniors dank eines großartig agierenden Lukas Parik der mit 24 Saves ein Shutout feiern konnte ein 2:0 Sieg über Russland.
