Team Canada gewinnt in Piestany zum Abschluss der Vorbereitung für den am Montag startenten Hlinka Gretzky Cup gegen die Slowakei mit 7:0.
Nach dem sicheren 7:1 Sieg gegen das ungarische U20 Nationalteam bestritt heute Team Canada in Piestany den zweiten Test. Der heutige Gegner war die Slowakei. Dabei ließ der Titelverteidiger den Gastgebern in Piestany ab der ersten Minute keine wirkliche Chance auf einen Sieg. Am Ende feierte Team Canada einen 7:0 Erfolg wobei sich gleich sieben verschiedene Spieler in die Torschützenliste eintragen konnten. Das starke Team Gefüge zeigt aber auch das gleich 13 Akteure je einen Punkt erzielen konnte.
Gavin Betts der die ersten 40 Minuten im Tor der Kanadier stand und Carter Esler konnten dabei jeweils ihre beiden Tore sauber halten.
Nach einem Tag Pause startet Team Canada in Brno gegen die Finnen in das Turnier und die Slowakei empfängt in Trencin zum Turnier Start das Team aus der USA.
